Dear Choir Member
If you need to reply for any reason, please do so to my email address: philpotthm@gmail.com.
Thank you everyone who responded to the call for biscuits; we now have a good store again!
Here's Tricia’s full list for next week:
Tourdion (suggested plan now on googledrive)
Can't eat money
White winter hymnal
Vacilon que rico vacilon
Season of peace
The longest time
Up on the roof
Ain't no sunshine
We now have a date for a joint concert with Good in Parts on Friday 14th March, Queen's Hall, Harrogate Road. Please put it in your diary and sign up at choir. Any learning you can do between rehearsals will be beneficial.
Recruitment: Do you have any friends or neighbours that would enjoy singing with us? Please ask them to come and try a rehearsal. We will also have some flyers available soon if you know anywhere they could be placed.
Social Media skills?
We would like to promote the choir on social media (Facebook, Instagram) but we need a volunteer. Do you have any experience – or do you have a child/grandchild who would be willing to keep things up to date for a small payment?

Music: Printing your music: In order to keep costs down, we ask you to print copies of the music needed each week yourself. Please share with your neighbour if you have forgotten. A few copies are available at choir for those people who do not have a printer or for new members who are trying out choir. Please have your music sorted beforehand, as this information is given in the weekly email. Janie will display a print out at the beginning for anyone who doesn't have time to read the email.
You can access and download all our scores & soundfiles by clicking on this link to Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1lUCtOy329YM1NXGHORC2lNIK5uMfY6L7?usp=sharing – there's now a Current Songs folder to make it easier to find. You will need a Google account to do so – if you do not have one, these instructions tell you how to open one: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QHrs5Kxc6n-D1kPZqwg0B4argoJvFKP91ZxXHNTjytY/edit?usp=drivesdk The soundfiles, if listened to with headphones/earphones, will put the raised voice in one ear and all the other parts in the other ear!
Alternatively, on our website: https://headingleyvoices.com/ under the Choir Members tab (password is membervoices), you will find scores and soundfiles for all songsfor this Thursday.
Arrival: Our start time is 7.00 every week. You will be able to arrive from 6.50 for a prompt 7.00 start – come in by the main door to the hall. There will be a 15 minute break and rehearsals finish at 9.00.
Refreshments: Unfortunately we are unable to provide drinks at break time so you may wish to bring your own water bottle or flask.
Subs: Please pay for the term by bank transfer if possible. Please always add a payment reference in the form ” Subs-myname” to help the treasurer to reconcile them – some bank account names are not obvious to the uninitiated! If for something other than subs, then anything to indicate the purpose & payee is very helpful. The amount for this term (9th January to 3rd April with half term break on 20 February) is: £36.00 (£3.00 per session). If you are a new member you may obviously wish to attend for a trial few weeks before making this commitment.
Please pay £36.00 using the following details:
A/c name: Headingley Voices Sort code: 40-27-16 A/c no: 21549251
Reference: Subs + your name
New members: New members are always welcome, but if you know someone who is interested in joining, please ask them to get in touch with Janie before turning up.
Covid precautions: You should of course not come to rehearsal if you are feeling at all unwell.
We look forward to seeing you on Thursday.
With best wishes
Helen Philpott
